Support Funding the Core Area Plan

The Core Area Plan, adopted by the City Council on May 20, 2020, is the culmination of the City of Bend’s planning process to identify needed projects and programs in the BCD and surrounding neighborhoods. It includes our recommendations for equitable redevelopment.

The City Council will vote to create an urban renewal area so that they may use Tax Increment Financing (TIF) to provide funding for those projects and programs on August 5, 2020.

Subject: I Support Funding the Core Area Plan with TIF

Dear City Councilors,

My name is YOUR NAME, and I support the vision for the BCD to become a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive mixed-use neighborhood because WHY YOU CARE. [include more information about yourself to make it personal!]

The Core Area Plan helps achieve the BCD vision, and needs funding to do so. The TIF Plan would enable funding for important projects and programs, including [CHOOSE ONE OR MORE: Transportation, Streetscape & Utility Infrastructure; Affordable Housing Re/Development Assistance, Partnership & Support; Business & Re/Development Assistance, Partnership & Support; Open Space, Facilities, Amenities, & Wayfinding].

I urge the City Council to vote to adopt the Core Area TIF Plan, and immediately begin implementing the action items to create a more livable future for the City of Bend, especially the equity strategies to avoid displacement of vulnerable populations.

Sincerely, YOUR NAME CONTACT INFO
