August 13: Urban Renewal Advisory Board (URAB) Meeting
Tuesday, August 13, 12pm-3pm
Bend Municipal Court,
555 NE 15th St.
Bend, OR 97701
“The Urban Renewal Advisory Board (URAB) will meet monthly over the next two years while a new Urban Renewal Feasibility Study is completed. The Advisory Board will provide recommendations to the Bend Urban Renewal Agency (BURA) relating to the potential use of urban renewal for the central area of Bend to accomplish the goals and policies outlined in the Bend Comprehensive Plan.”
The Core Area Project study area is inspired by previous planning efforts and includes four of the nine opportunity areas that were identified in the City of Bend's 2016 Comprehensive Plan update. These opportunity areas (locations within the City where growth would be encouraged) include the Bend Central District, KorPine, East Downtown, and Inner Highway 20/Greenwood. While the Comprehensive Plan describes the vision for each of these opportunity areas, the study area boundary also includes new sub-areas, Division and Wilson, which to date have received little planning attention.
We would greatly appreciate your input/support through the City's planning process, so you have a chance to advocate for changes and growth you’d like to see in the Bend Central District! The meeting’s packet (including meeting agenda, community engagement summary, draft urban renewal boundary, and more) will be up for review this week and we hope you will consider attending the meeting or send in comments about the packet.
